SPECIAL CORONA CoVid-19 VIRUS RESOURCE PAGE

With the quarantine extended and restrictions still in place we enter the final two weeks of the 2019-2020 school year mixed. We remain uncertain about how and when the Co-Vid crisis will end. We understand the importance of keeping our distance from from loved ones and, at the same time we desire the community togetherness that celebrations of student achievement have traditionally provided us at the end of a school year.

Be assured that over the next two weeks and beyond we will not let the inconvenience of our restrictions or our grief prevent us from highlighting our children's learning. Indeed, these times have allowed our learners to bring the mission of the school to life in unique ways as they think critically and creatively and practice responsible global citizenship from their homes.

As we shared in the last General Assembly the ACS Leadership team has been planning for next year and further details will be shared with you before we enter June and July. Right now, however, we are focussed on important ACS traditions such as our Awards Ceremonies and the Commencement Ceremony of the Class of 2020. These ceremonies will be virtual this year but no less celebratory. We invite you to be together with us by clicking on the links provided below to attend these events.

Dear ACS Families,

Thank you to the 176 attendees to yesterday's General Assembly. This Screencast of May, 7th General Assembly Slide Deck has Spanish translations. It does not capture the beginning or ending conversations directed by parent questions. This is the link to the Entire Zoom General Assembly.

I would also like to thank the over 600 attendees to the traditional Excellence Award Ceremonies. These links will take you ES Presidential Award Ceremony. Click on the link provided to enjoy a full recording of the event. Be sure to check the information below under Important Dates to attend the additional celebrations of student learning including the Secondary Presidential Awards Ceremony, Senior farewell and the Commencement Ceremony of the beloved Class of 2020.

BONO FAMILIA

  • Beginning May 18 families with eligible children who are enrolled in private schools are entitled to a 500bs/child bono
  • ACS families should wait to request their bono familia due to a technical issue with the Ministry of Education. The Ministry of Education is aware of the issue and has assured us that they are working to resolve it as quickly as possible. The issue stems from our different academic calendars. You will receive notification as soon as we hear that the issue has been resolved
  • Families will have 90 days from May 18 to claim the Bono Familia
  • Banks have different requirements for families to receive the bono. Documents that may be required include recent Bolivian report cards with or without signatures and/or stamps
  • Due to current government restrictions ACS is not in a position to provide stamped documents however all families will be receiving their children’s two (2) most recent Bolivian report cards electronically from ACS by the end of next week
  • A priority for our office staff once we receive permission to return to work will be to scan all original report cards with signatures and stamps and send these directly to all families

We continue to closely monitor reports from the Bolivian Ministry of Health, World Health Organization, Center for Disease Control and the State Department about the current pandemic and assess any possible threat to the ACS community. ACS has emergency plans for infectious diseases when they threaten our community and at this time, we have fully implemented our ACS Distance Learning Plan.
